How to use Metro in San Javier & Murcia - Fares, Map & Information

San Javier is the last station on Line B of the Medellin Metro that was opened on 30 November 1995.

The Medellín Metro is the only metro in Colombia that crosses the Metropolitan Area of Medellín from North to South and from Centre to West.

There are currently two lines: Line A that is 25.8 kilometers long and Line B that is 5.5 kilometers long. The Tram line is separated to the Line T-A Ayacucho Tram.

The Metrocable, the aerial cable car system that acts as additional transportation means for the metro has four lines: Line J, Line K, Line L, and Line H.

Line A comprises 21 metro stations: Niquía, Bello, Madera, Acevedo, Tricentenario, Caribe, University, Hospital, Prado, Berrío Park, San Antonio, Alpujarra, Exposiciones, Industriales, Poblado, Aguacatala, Ayurá, Envigado, Itagüí, Sabaneta, La Estrella.

Line B comprises 7 metro stations: San Antonio, Cisneros, Suramericana, Estadio, Floresta, Santa Lucía, San Javier.

Line J comprises 4 metrocable stations: San Javier, Juan XXIII, Vallejuelos, La Aurora.

Line K comprises 4 metrocable stations: Acevedo, Andalucía, Popular, Santo Domingo Savio.

Line L comprises 2 metrocable stations: Santo Domingo Savio, Arví.

Line H comprises 3 metrocable stations: Oriente, Las Torres, Villa Sierra.

Line T-A comprises 3 tramway stations and 6 stops: San Antonio, San José, Pabellón del Agua, Bicentenario, Buenos Aires, Miraflores, Loyola, Alejandro Echavarria, Oriente.

To use the Medellín Metro service the one shall obtain the Civica Card that is a rechargeable card that allows decreasing the overall fare for metro usage. The card might be taken from the San Antonio, Itagüí y San Javier, Niquía metro stations. The card might be recharged in about 600 spots around the city. Usual fare per one ride in the metro is 2,000 pesos ($0.70) with the Card and approximately 2,300 pesos ($0.81) without it.

The metro is operating from 04:30 until 23:00 during the week and from 05:00 until 22:00 on weekends and holidays. However, some lines are operating under a different schedule. For instance, Line K is running from 08:30 until 22:00 on weekdays/holidays and from 09:00 until 22:00 for Lines H and J. Notably, Line L is closed on Mondays and operates from 09:00 until 18:00 on Tuesdays-Saturdays, however, on Sundays the line runs from 08:30 until 18:00.
